Even if you don’t use a power meter to measure it, increasing your sustained power improves your general riding, climbing and riding into a headwind. Add in some 20 minute sweetspot blocks into a longer ride when competition season approaches. In my experience athletes can take a traditional friel style base build of 24 weeks down to 18 weeks with 3 three week mesocycles incorporating sweet.
